It’s a combination of insanity brought on by being stuck in those crappy animatronics and being forced to go through the same routine every day for many years and the bad programming of the animatronics themselves, programming which those poor children are bound by
So I’m not all that much into the FNAF canon, but even I know the animatronics don’t hurt kids. They’re the spirits OF kids or something. They hate adults because murder and purple guy and stuff.
Besides, fluttershy was just gonna stuff those orphans into animatronic suits anyway
