Yeah but atleast we know spike has friends outside of the girls :D
I would’ve gone with Soarin since he’s not actually a background pony, but eh.
Add caramel to that list aswell and boom! The best character development to any of the male characters in MLP
Then why…never mind…trying to ask people that don’t like spike is a losing argument :/
That have any correlation with the makers of “Sorp”?
Brave Bold Aquaman had some help convincing WB writers to make him cool thanks to Justice League Aquaman… Maybe there’s an opposite effect in some way happening because G1 Spike was slightly more useful… Know nothing of G3 Spike. XD
“Really? We have to—what the hay, ref!?”
Yes, quite so, that was extremely refreshing to learn. Perhaps we the writers may finally be taking head of our yells for Spike to more than a punching bag.
I’m personally ok with Spike being the butt of jokes for some of the time. As long as they at least give him scenes or even an episode or 2 where he can be shown being more than that.
I liked his scene in this episode since it at least showed him having a life and hobbies and friends outside of the Mane Six.
I’d say the last part of your comment is damn near impossible for all the writers to adhere to. Look at his character model, short, roundish, and he’s younger than all of the mane six. He’s the perfect target to be the joke scapegoat character.
Personally I really dislike it. I would love to see an episode that flashes the hell out of his character and Celestia’s as well. But what do we get . . . Spike crushing Pinkie’s home, funny, though: *upset sigh* -_-
Yes, that’s why I said after Celestia talked to her.
Some Spike fans won’t be happy with anything less than Spike single-clawedly taking down a Discord-level threat, saving the Mane 6, winning Rarity’s heart, and becoming the central character of the ensemble. Other, more reasonable fans will settle for any of the above. (And never, ever being the butt of any joke or slapstick again should go without saying.)
We didn’t see it appear there, Twilight just turned her cheek and there it was.
Sure, I can see that. Some the magic from the burst beam could have transferred to Spike. STILL it is QUITE strange that she didn’t get her mark til after Celestia calmed her down and talked to her. I would bet self control is also connected to her mark.
It was all part of the same incident, though. And it’s a cartoon, so there should be enough power in the symbolism–if nothing else–to count for something.
@Trilby Pony
@raw19
Sorry guys that’s incorrect. Remember little Dashie’s rainboom triggered a magic burst beam from Twi’s horn that happened to be aimed at Spike’s egg. This magic burst then threw her into an uncontrollable magic trance that made her shoot incredibly powerful random magic burst beams everywhere. It wasn’t until she shouted yes to Celestia proposal to make her her student did she then gain her mark.
Bee-yatch!
I gotta try that brand.
I dunno, we got some pretty good Spike episodes last season.
