Ah, so there’s some utility to ’em, just not of the passenger-carrying variety (aside from foals in saddle-packs or somesuch).

Seem to be fashion accessories.

Certainly tighter leg/back structure with Patchy’s current horsier style, though he’s embellished show-template-ballpark pones nicely over the past couple months. Definite snout/eye upgrade, and those beefed-up ears just work.

Pointless sidenote: gotta wonder how much non-kink use poneverse sapients have for saddles. Back braces? Pone-nonpone courier teams? Recreational jousting?
