That’s what Twilight Sparkle should have said.
I kinda figured “terrible husband” went without saying.
Hahahaha. XD
He was mostly just a terrible father and a colossal asshole; at the very least, he was trying to save as much of the world as he thought he could with the resources he had.
But that’s still bullshit, and the character is still nothing more than a psychopathic asshole. Lovey-dovey intentions? Oh please, and that “reunion” thing was just retarded. Wish people would become more knowledgeable about actual science and realize how moronic the myth-promoting science fiction genre actually is. A nice dose of common sense would be good too.
His scenario for causing Third Impact and taking control of Instrumentality was all so he could reunite with his wife in the end. Rei was just a mean to this end until she screwed him over.
@SquiggyBomb
I’ve read a theory about how Yui specifically picked Gendo because he was so emotionally insecure and obsessed with her. She knew that, after losing her, Gendo would do anything to get her back and wouldn’t have time for their son. As for Shinji, she arranged him to witness her disappearance during the testing of Unit-01, giving him his deepest trauma which, combined with Gendo’s abandonment and emotional abuse, would make him the perfect catalyst for her version of Third Impact.
Fuck you Gendo,
