And what if the moment those ponies discovered their cutie marks and how are also determined by destiny. I mean, it’s safe to assume the events of ‘Cutie Mark Chronicles’ was preordained considering the destiny Twilight still had before her.
even cutie marks seem more somethign they create to represent themselves than some tatoo telling them what their destiny is. they are all discovered by the pony rather than just appearing.
it doesn’t really play with destiny to be god honest. everything can be determined as a decision or even action, not something meant to be. even twilight’s connection to the tree could simply be that she chosen by the tree.
not to mention everything that the tree has done so far was create what is neede rather than pointing directions towards ancient artifacts and mcguffins.
Well considering the show itself really plays up the idea of destiny, I can believe it can all coexist in the same canon. Fixed timelines don’t mean you can’t have multiple dimensions. It just means that the effects of time travel can’t create a new timeline. All possible alternate realities already exist and don’t need to be birthed from butterfly effects.
which makes me question if this comic is actually canon or actualyl was time travel……..
here is the thing. mlp is episodic by nature, it is. however it normally feels more like time hsa passed between one episode and the nextthan they cease to be.
this feels more like one of those throw away things though it does give some insight into discord’s past. shows that he was not always evil in his actions, making him being more good make more sense, and more depth to him personally.
though at the cost of making us question how their universe actually functions if the past in immutable yet there are alternate realities. you can’t have both.
haaaa!

But seriously, this comic (deliberately) has the same flow and many similar elements to the average Doctor Who episode. I suppose actually using Doctor Whooves as more than a gag would have meddled with the lore too much (heavy-handed reference notwithstanding).
“What? No way…”

Well, I’ll be, it is! Does the artist have a twitter or anything? See if that’s intentional.
