No, if you look at this artist’s other Mauxie comics, you see that Maud was actually the one who bought the amulet, because Trixie had seen it in a book and had liked it. Trixie scolded Maud for wasting her money on her, and the two tried to return it, but the shopkeeper refused to take it back.

Also, if you’re open to small suggestions, I think maybe the second panel would be much more dynamic if Trixie were throwing her whole head into the blast, that is, pointing her horn right at the rock and firing her magical beam from the tip of it.

I’m going to assume that this takes place in an alternate timeline to Magic Duel, takes place after Magic Duel, that using the Amulet messed up Trixie’s natural magic at least in the immediate aftermath, or that a rock disruption spell is different than a flesh disruption spell.
