Smooze was the most deadly villain in history of MLP. Even in G1 in a cartoon for little kids the Grundle King mentioned that Smooze exterminated his entire population and only few of them remained. And its canon. Not to mention his song when he smoozed entire valleys and forests with millions of smaller creatures and unknown amount of ponies and bushwoolies. They will never repeat such killing spree in FiM. At least without some magic that will reverse every deed.
