Well yeah, that’s just how narrative structure works. The Fool is in such a low position it pretty much wraps around again to The Deity.
Uh… that’s what I’m saying. They’re not being negatively used here. He’s just taking a stereotype and playing it up for laughs.
They were actually called “Mancakes,” as coined by the staff of Dan Vs.
I don’t even see how they’re being used negatively here? Again, except maybe as a “just because they dress like that doesn’t mean they can’t speak wisdom?”
It’s sort of like the Fool. No one expects the Fool to say anything insightful, and ignore his insight as foolery when he does. The only reason he doesn’t get executed is because he’s the Fool and that’s the point of a Fool, to make humor.
It’s no secret that the Fool is always one of the only ones left at the end of the story.
Now this is just me, like my personal opinion, talking, but I think stereotypes are hilarious when they’re used for comedy, especially parody and satire. That’s what Catfood is doing here.
It’s when people use them in a hurtful or even serious manner that I stop laughing at them.
Also, because opinions have been voiced…
(I’ll never get sick of this gif)
I disagree. There’s only so many times you can hear SJW whining about people mourning Robin Williams commiting suicide and what horrible people they are for it before it takes it’s toll. Apparently he perpetuated transmisogynistic stereotypes and something about privilege I dunno.
They make great parody material.
Oh, it’s a world of no pain for them. Lots of pain for you.
I fear a world full of pain, but I fear a world without any pain just as much.
The problem is when they stop being teenagers and become adults in a world that is slowly being restructured in the wrong ways. Instead of “there’s many acceptable ways to be what you are,” it’s “no one can ever be questioned or face any sort of reality otherwise they will practically die.”
Who? SJWs? Of course they are.
You know what they are? They are a bunch of Teenaged Handsome Jacks, except you replace all the humor and charisma with more self-righteousness and Speshul Snowflake Syndrome.
That too. But really, it’s not so much about them as it is the message that these people are terrible.
Honestly, the message that I got was “just because somebody looks like a loser, doesn’t mean that they’re worthless punchlines, maybe they’re actual fucking people and you should stop harshly criticizing them for every single mother fucking thing that they do that does not fit within your parameters of what’s normal, you godamn douchebag”.
Basically is saying “These people are worse,” in a way.
Thing is, Catfood always draw bronies as neckbearded stereotypes. But he never has them act that way.
What stereotype? I see a fedora and Cheetos here, but everything Dis/Ciscord is saying here is true.
Also, @441TheSecond, @Itsthinking,
Yeah, they do want to take these moments out. Because everyone must be doe-eyed and never deserve to be taken down a peg.
You know that moment in a child’s life where they’re forced to interact with other people, undergo bad experiences, and fail, in order to learn that they’re not a special snowflake and that the world is a harsh place where they will have to take a bunch of crap for seemingly no reason at times, and they gotta learn how to get through it? It’s like people are trying to take these moments out, so that we can all grow to be a bunch of pussies who start crying at the wind blowing 1 Newton stronger than usual, and believe that the world should serve their every whim because they’re the chosen one in a world full of fat, lazy sheep.
people have a harder time attacking you for being gay if you can identify famous historical figures who were gay and yet undeniably awesome.
We’re slowly approaching the age of the Feelie. Where “YOU are the star” and every story is constructed to make the audience experience a power fantasy of some kind. No empathy, no imagination, no struggles, just you being pushed up.
Also, turning Thor into a woman is not only a cash grab but also sends exactly the wrong message. Are women not good enough to create a brand new character for? Are they only a gimmick or something?
