never said that they succeded whit it, just that maybe they tried to do something like it.
I liked Flash well enough, but I really never imagined him as any kind of self-insert. And as near as I can tell, fans, haters, and neutral spectators alike seem not to see him in that way. It seems to me that he was merely designed to be a semi-cool nice guy, not a creepy “I wish I could date Twilight so much I’m changing my name to Flash Sentry” avatar.
well, he sort of has the characterless thing going on, sort of like link or gordon freeman.

I dunno, I tend to see the more hate than passiveness for him. The very few people that like him seem to be strictly limited to Flashlight shippers which is kind of a shame, because I kind of like him myself. Oh well, maybe the writers will man-up and give him some personality that could make him a likable character.
