But thankfully it seems that they have organized and gotten enough money to buy the guy a new plush. That proves that there is always a lot of decent people for each asshole that exists.

If it was mine, I would go to the police and then lawsuit him. I would demand the $250 back, plus any compensation for emotional strife.
 
It’s funny how people try to justify ‘theft’ and ‘defiling’. Any respectable person who find something that doesn’t belong to them would give them back to security. I really wish that those who think this is not a big deal have something stolen and then cummed to the whole internet to see.

Also as extreme as Sweetie Belle is being, I wouldn’t actually be too sad if this guy were to stop living. There’s no group of people that doesn’t revile him, so if he doesn’t send the plush back as soon as possible and instead just drags this out, he risks his address getting leaked. 4Chan would do the leaking, and I expect Bronies would do the kicking in. It would be a good day for all.

The tricky thing is sometimes the honesty is genuine honesty and praiseworthy, and their culture does encourage people to be more open and direct. Their also less prone to pursuing things over lies and act check a lot more. I.e unlike Tumblr they won’t try to punish entire communties because they heard some bs about bronies harrasing a voice actress even when the VA denied it.
 
But yeah chan’s “honesty” also includes praising sociopathic behavior, excuses to be an asshole, and saying things you’d never say if you weren’t behind Annoymous, especially things you don’t believe (yes I realize this is not actually honest behavior, but there you go.). I do hate those who are jump to victimn blaming, saying people deserve to be stolen from for being careless, but obviously wouldn’t have that attitude if stolen form themselves.

I don’t think anyone says that “honesty” thing as a way to praise 4chan, but more as a way to criticize Tumblr for being just as bad but pretending they’re saints.

Like I said in my first post, I really don’t know any kind of authentic detective agency that would have a use for this. Maybe one in DC hunting for infidelity among senators?

Who’s to say he didn’t? Until the plushie owner gives people his life-sob-story begging for internet donations you just can’t know. Not that that isn’t an entirely laughable situation itself, it’s just you literally don’t know how much of a ‘dedicated fan’ they are until they ‘show their true power level’ as /mlp/ likes to put it. Getting only OC custom plushies tends to equate to a very high rating, due to the prevalence of exactly that type of mentality amongst furries and sonic fans who have done similar.

And also of note is that the plushie owner doesn’t care, they just want it back which lends a little bit of credence to my theory of personal wealth, that they’d put such a high sentimental value upon it that they’d be willing to scrub it clean themselves. If $200 was nothing but an hour or a day’s work, then it would show. Exception would be if they are a principled narcissist(like moi), but willing to clean it themselves pushes against that.
