Does it matter?
Do you think that everyone will like Sci-Twi at the end of the movie, and the HuMane 5 will be friends with her?
Sorry, I was just worried about Friendship Games.
Okay, but that still has nothing to do with our Twilight, from Equestria. I don’t see your point.
Look, Sci-Twi is on the opposite team (Shadowbolts), she doesn’t know her friends, She will possibly turn into Midnight Sparkle once she loses control of her magic, and, unless Sunset does anything to turn Twilight believably good to the whole school, everyone in the end will hate her (except The HuMane 5 and Sunset).
This is why I am worried about Friendship Games.
Why would that even happen? The HuMane 5 know that magic exists and that the Twilight they know is from another world. Sunset can just tell them “Hey, the Twilight from Crystal Prep isn’t the same one that we’re friends with.” Considering that Sunset is from Equestria too and she’s really good friends with the HuMane 5 now, what reason would they have to not believe her on this?
Also, I don’t want Princess Twily’s friendship with the humans to end because of Sci-Twi not being a Wondercolt and doubting Sunset Shimmer and the Human Mane 5 to the point where they make cringeworthy “getting pissed off at someone” drama. (Like in Three’s a Crowd and A Canterlot Wedding)
Same thing with Pony Twi’s reputation from the human world. I don’t want Canterlot High School to be against the two Twilight Sparkles. (See, Rainbow Rocks, everyone hated Sunset Shimmer after the first movie)
Oh, ok. Thanks for the correction.
Incorrect. Pinkie wasn’t mad about her friends throwing her a surprise party. She was mad because she thought her friends were, and I quote “lying to her and avoiding her because they didn’t like her parties and didn’t want to be her friends anymore.”
If anything, she got mad because she didn’t recognize that her friends were preparing to throw her a party, and then jumped to the wrong conclusion. Once she realized that she was mistaken and that her friends were throwing her a birthday party, she was no longer angry.
I apologize, I was so concerned about Friendship Games since that will lead to serious soap-opera-ish drama. With Sunset being against Sci-Twi and her friends totally confused.
(Like her friends are pissed off at Discord for his trolling, when he isn’t a villain anymore. Or Twilight Sparkle getting pissed off at Princess Cadance (the fake one). Or Pinkie Pie getting hypocritically pissed off at her friends over a surprise party. [I mean she makes surprise parties and yet she got pissed at her friends for making a surprise party for her. WTF?])
I love me some drama, but not cringeworthy ones.
As in hoping for both “happy-go-lucky” Sci-Twi, Human Mane 5 and Sunset being friends and become Human Mane Seven, and the reconciliation between Pony Sunbutt and Sunset.
“Yeah. But the one thing I’m really hoping for is Sunset Shimmer and Pony Celestia seeing each other again. It might not happen until later, but that would definitely bring its points up if it was in Friendship Games.”
Same here.
I wish Meghan McCarthy would have developed him more, but otherwise you wouldn’t agree because you don’t want ponies to fall in love, even if you like romance.
Ah, Flash Sentry. I admit, I had a knee-jerk hatred of him as well for being a love interest for Twilight (though my grievance was less “He’s stealing my waifu” and more “Lauren didn’t want romance in the show! This is a bad idea!”).
However, my dislike of him has shifted more to the fact that he’s a completely shallow and unnecessary character. Seriously, you could completely remove all of his scenes from both the movies, and the stories would be completely unchanged. I don’t think you’d even have to alter a single line of dialogue outside of those scenes where he appears.
My theory is that he exists solely due to corporate mandate. It’s as if one of the higher-ups thought “Hey, if we’re gonna be ripping off Barbie, we’ll need a Ken doll to go with her!” and thus the folks at DHX are including him in the movies only as much as is strictly necessary to appease the execs. That’s the only thing that makes sense to me.
Notice how whenever another character talks about Flash, it is ALWAYS a reference to his role as a love interest. I’m not kidding, go back and look at all the lines where another character mentions Flash. They always mention him being a love interest to someone, whether it’s Twi or Sunset.
Yeah. But the one thing I’m really hoping for is Sunset Shimmer and Pony Celestia seeing each other again. It might not happen until later, but that would definitely bring its points up if it was in Friendship Games.
@LanceOmikron
Agreed. Heck, they even had a scene where Trixie pointed out that Twilight was from the magical realm, increasing the pressure and scrutiny on the main team. The second movie seemed amazingly self-aware compared to the first.
And yeah, Kill la Kill is incredible. :D
Yeah, despite people blaming a character for being under a spell by the Dazzlings to hurt Twi’s feelings just because he wants to win the Battle of the Bands. (That’s Flash Sentry)
Yes, I know Flash Sentry isn’t good for Twilight Sparkle, and I have to agree. lol
I have watched Kill la Kill. I freaking love it.
Folks who bash EG for its high school setting are extremely shortsighted, really. There are a host of other problems that they could point out. Like how the first movie is absolutely riddled with plot holes. Seriously, if you start asking any questions at all about Sunset Shimmer’s plan, the whole thing falls apart.
I don’t really have anything bad to say about RR, though. Virtually every single problem that was present in the first movie is fixed in RR. It’s a very decent flick.
Or during the credits with a song. Lol
“In all likelihood, Human Twi is going to transfer to Sunset’s high school at the end of the movie.”
If so, I hope they would do the same things Pony-Twi and her friends did to Sunset Shimmer (in Rainbow Rocks) and become friends aka HUMAN MANE SEVEN! at the end of the movie.
Having her on the “other side”, from another school that happens to be on a opposite team, is just a method of introducing her later on. She most likely joined the school team, just so she could investigate Sunset’s High School and its proximity to the magic world.
If she becomes a villain, it will likely have nothing to do with what school she goes too. From the clips, it will likely be from losing control of the magic, since Sci-Twi is also the Element of Magic. They’ve already established that the Element of Magic is hard to control, and is likely going to overwhelm Human Twilight’s mind at first.
In all likelihood, Human Twi is going to transfer to Sunset’s high school at the end of the movie.
But are you really fine with her as a villain in Friendship Games? If you think she isn’t a villain, why is she on the opposite side?
And do you think they will still like Pony Twi and make Friends with Sci-Twi at the end of Friendship Games, despite of what they are going through? Just asking.
“I mean, she is in the opposite school, and on the rival team, and she doesn’t know the Mane 5 nor Sunset, leading to things like, not trusting the two Twilights.”
What are you talking about? I sincerely doubt that will be an issue. Those are from extremely generic 1-episode plots way older then MLP:FiM. Pony Twilight will be the one who says she’s from Equestria. Neither AJ, Rainbow Dash, Rarity or Sunset are genre-blind enough to fall into that old plot.
“Are you really okay with the idea that Sci-Twi will ruin the friendship between Pony-Twi, Sunset and the Human Mane 5 at the end of Friendship Games?”
Sci-Twi’s most likely a heck of a lot more interesting then Pony Twi. Pony Twilight’s one of the most neutral characters in animation nowadays, while Sci-Twi seems really determined about things, even if she’s socially awkward. If anything, Pony Twi can learn a lot from Sci-Twi, Sci-Twi can learn a lot from Twilight, and both Twi’s can learn a lot from Sunset.
Sorry, I should’ve thought this through.
“I just hope the 3rd is nearly as good as the 2nd.”
Are you really okay with the idea that Sci-Twi will ruin the friendship between Pony-Twi, Sunset and the Human Mane 5 at the end of Friendship Games?
I mean, she is in the opposite school, and on the rival team, and she doesn’t know the Mane 5 nor Sunset, leading to things like, not trusting the two Twilights. I just hope they don’t hate the poor pony Twilight after Friendship Games.
The high school setting in Kill la Kill is more or less ‘in name only’. Its as different from traditional schools as possible, and the differences are built into the plot. No one would ever consider Kill la Kill as a high school-type series.
The reasons why a whole series with MLP’s premise can’t be built upon the normal high school setting is the limitations. Sure they hit the jackpot in Rainbow Rocks, but even 3 movies might be pushing it. I just hope the 3rd is nearly as good as the 2nd.
