Realistic anthro’ art can be nice sometimes, but I admit I prefer more expressionistic, cartoonier, cuter, or funnier ones. Or maybe ones like Pia-Sama’s that are part realism, and part cartoony.

And yeah, it’s a shame all the stigma’s attached to furry-artwork, (with all the “furverts” and such) but the same could be said of the brony fanbase actually.
If you tell some people you’re a brony, they automatically think you’re a “clopper,” or “horse-****er.” So sadly the same stigmas that are attached to the furry/anthro’ fans are being attached to bronies/MLP-fans, as well.

Personally, I like anthropomorphic characters. I think people in reality don’t really have a problem with anthros, its the “culture” behind it that is a problem. In other words, people can’t look at cool anthro art and think just a cool cartoon character, they picture a grown man or woman dressed in fursuits who go “yiffing” and have furpiles and whatnot, which is beyond creepy. And personally, if “furries” drew their artwork more like this, it would be cool, unfortunately they try hard to emulate actual animals to the point where it loses its cartoon appeal and becomes litterally an animal or literally an animal trapped in a human’s body. Which is the reason why I prefer to label myself as a Brony, simply because i just love MLP and the artwork and couldn’t give 2 shits about horses, and most bronies agree.

Not to mention the humanized pics, and such.

Yeah, to be honest fanart that’s a copy of the show’s style perfectly while it can be nice/impressive sometimes, aren’t as interesting to me usually as ones who have their own version of said style, or their own art style.

Also, given how different dragons tend to look from each other, (watch “Dragon Quest” again) who’s to say dragons only have to look one way in the show?

@Psychopomf
True, but since the anthro tag here has over 33000 images, I think it is safe to assume that a fair proportion of bronies seem to like pics of the ponies drawn in a way which is also not how they appear in the show.

I think the thing that bothers most people is the… lack of adhering to the aesthetic that most furries do when they insert their OC, I think. This one, for instance, not looking much like a dragon in the show.

Still a good picture though.

Just remember there are probably people who think “I will never understand bronies.”.

Well, I’ve seen people draw ponies (anthro, human, or quadruped) in stranger outfits, so it doesn’t bother me really. Also, considering dragons do exist in the MLP universe, I’m not that bothered by her.

@Beau Skunky
If the dragon were dressed differently I could agree to that, but she’s just so out of place with the other two and the outfit in general is odd enough that I just toss my hands in the air and say “I’ll never understand furries.”

I think they look cute, even the dragon girl. (Or whatever she is.) I like the outfits, and designs. :)

I like the detail on Twi’s wings, and knees, and the way the eyes are drawn.

Yeah, I’m not hating. Heck, I did say I like the artist’s style and I do like the picture itself. I’m just naturally wary of characters that look so out of place. Still, it’s the commissioner and artists piece so more power to ’em.
OnlyTheDream

What is it with the random hate in these comments? (Aside from albert19)

IMO, it’s a reeeeeally well-drawn picture by a good artist. Like, why the hate?

Her outfit reminds me of a more conservative version of Makoto’s from BlazBlue’s outfit.

Suggestive picture below! Or maybe questionable? I can’t really tell.

following the source, it’s a commission. As in “I’ll give you money to draw anthro versions of these characters from mlp with my own OC/fursona.”

And likely further details were given as to the strange way their character dresses.

While that OC in the middle sets off some alarm bells for me I do like the artist’s style. Anyone have some context on what the OC is supposed to be?
