We love the images you make, QueenCold. We appreciate this one because many of us would like to see Twilight be this concerned about Spike.
Pretty sur that was an example showing that the animators know what a “real” hug looks like.
And that’s one of her major failings as an individual.
Luna was certainly more emotional.
1: Rarity told him it will not work out.
2: Someone told him that He’ll outlive all of his friends.
3: Having nightmares about being kicked out.
Seriously, you view the hug Luna gave Fluttershy in “Luna Eclipsed” as being a more sincere show of affection than any that Twilight’s given Spike?

I guess I just view hugs very differently. To me it’s just Spike doing the hugging and Twilight resting a hoof on him. I suppose it could technically be counted as a hug, but it’s all very tame. When I say the word “hug” this is what I mean:

I already covered the Crystal Empire one, it was just for the purpose of the song and she immediately drops him.
The Dragon Quest one counts. I just forgot about that one.
The others are technically hugs, very loosely so. What I meant were full on frontal hugs, like the first one you linked, but with it actually having meaning.
