If you’re trying to be sarcastic it’s not coming through clearly.
 
It is precisely because animals have no moral responsibility that people who own an animal have moral responsibility for all that animal’s actions. The owners are as guilty of harming the child as if they used a hammer instead of a dog to do so. In fact it’s as if they owned a hammer with a motor and a motion sensor which tends to aim for small targets, and let it idle in an area where kids had access.
 
If I have powerful, dangerous equipment on my lawn, it’s not a defense to prosecution that someone is hurt – especially a child, who has less impulse control – coming on to my lawn. And many pit bull attacks aren’t on the owner’s property.
 
“They were asking for it” is never a defense to assault.
 
It’s actively worse when the target is a child.

You do know that a child that provoked the animal is just as guilty. As are parents and family who allow the child to aggravate an animal, who still has fight or flight instincts, and doesn’t understand morals as humans do. Sorry, the question mark on my keyboards busted.

I was walking my brother’s golden retriever Emmy in a standard suburban neighborhood when a pit bull in someone’s front yard lunged, broke the chain, and started savaging her. She didn’t even fight back – ended up needing $200 in stitches.
 
Some breeds are just too aggressive to keep in a residential area. If it had been a small child they could be dead.

If I were you, Rara, I whould drop that boulder on him. He’d faint and set the dog loose.

Bulldogs and boxers attacking kids and other animals, forced a new law to be made in Denmark. If you don’t have special certificate, it’s illegal to own one. Which is fair in my opinion. Some dogs are bred to be violent and can snap very easily. Yet, people always blame the owners of the dogs violent nature. It’s quite a pickle, but I do agree that some dogs are just too unstable to have around small animals and kids.
