The what in the where
@Background Pony #7824
certainly, that’s why deaths usually happen to the background red-shirts. although sometimes a major character may die to press the character on achieving a goal, may it be the main goal, or another directly related to the character who died. which doesn’t happen here either. or they can also dies as heroes, as I mentioned before.
It also seems heartstabs are my fetish

i would disagree with the worf thingy, but i will agree that this was totally msimanaged. in the words of the ARbiter; were it so easy.
if she is actually dead here i am going to be rather pissed cause it is a total waste of the character. then agian i think most character death is a waste unles handled for a certain reason.

The what in the where
but you know, killing the character with an already tragic past with a let’s say “common” death seems to be a pretty bad resource, or more likely, mismanagement of such. and that’s without taking care of how poorly written this scene was, with Luna specially following a bunch of stupid decisions (standing there talking to herself doing nothing or yelling instead of actually trying to escape the changelings or protect herself from sombra).
but let’s say we kill Celestia instead(not that I favor any of those two), not only it works for better worf effect, but we have the character of Luna having now to take care of the kingdom by herself, something she has never done, also so the burden of her sisters death and the possibility to use her grief, and sorrow for her past sins, to fuel the desire of vengeance and eventually dying heroically in favor of the protagonist. we may think killing Celestia is unoriginal, but is usually done because these actions have more poetic value. in fact many reasons I could find to kill Luna in a story would work better on Celestia thanks to how her being apparently more influential and powerful.

that said, this image makes me really aroused and I cant understand why

So, Sombra drew out the “friendship” in Luna, friendship probably placed there by the Elements of Harmony. I presume she will now turn resentful and join Sombra.
