She just knows how to feed an ego, so…Dash makes sense.
That’s seriously your interpretation of this scene? Methinks you may have a bit of a hate-on for Dash.
Too bad, cuz I like Trixie. <3
The show is built around that kind of comedy, it is called insult comedy or festive abuse where you come up on stage show your talent and then take your licks.
Trixie was not shy about what she was doing, the strange thing is the mane five obviously didn’t like it but all lined to get some even after they figured out what kind of performer she was.
In all of the scenes after they displayed their prowess she just straight up attacks them and declares herself the winner, makes no damn sense.
Also I really am tired of Trixie at this point, shes a generic arrogant character with none of the wit or charm that makes a good arrogant character.
“Revenge did seem to have something to do with it. She wanted to show up Twilight to get back at her”
But did she? She buys the amulet but there is no mention of Twilight. She is already corrupted by the time Twilight shows up.
More so is it revenge for a boxer to challenge another boxer for the title?
“even after they removed the amulet”
The show went out of its way to point out it is the amulet, they needed Trixie to cast a spell after to show the audience that she was weak again and have reason for Twilight to tell her how she beat her. They made the effects of the amulet linger for plot purpose.
These two have never really had much chemistry before that I could feel, or much of a dynamic :/
Revenge did seem to have something to do with it. She wanted to show up Twilight to get back at her. Plus, even after they removed the amulet, she still tried to use the torture spell on Dash. And she only ever apologized to Twilight, though I believe this was more out of fear than out of spite.
Nevertheless, I will concede that she seems to be an unfortunate victim of fate. I like her alright as a character. But as the character she is, an egocentric and mean-spirited, albeit remorseful, character. I just think some of her fans play the pitiful victim card to an extreme degree, to the point where they lose sight of who she really is in the show.
Hey, there’s a big difference in being a queen and princess in MLP; Ironically, Queen’s are just low grade Princess wannabe’s here.
I guess Spike deserves a immensely small amount of blame if only because he forgot the infinite stupidity that Snips and Snails possess. But only due to that.
“But she chose to seek revenge. No one forced her to wear the amulet.”
Correction, she chose to show up Twilight Sparkle. The Amulet was basically a new set of ergonomic Golf Clubs that happened to be cursed.
“As for the Ursa, well, lies have a way of catching up to you.”
Yeah but she is a stage performer. When a comedian starts a joke saying last week I was at, it is probably a lie.
“What many of her defenders seem to forget is that she isn’t some poor innocent victim. She is a egotistical jerk. And while not everything that happens to her is her own fault, she brings some of it on herself.”
Jerk and Victim are not opposites and you haven’t shown that she brought it on herself. You aren’t either, because she didn’t.
Wanting a new set of golf clubs to up your game is not bringing evil upon yourself. Telling stories on stage to entertain people is not bringing it upon yourself.
You can call Trixie a jerk but don’t pretend she is somehow to blame for these absurd events. She just happens to end up in the middle of them.
You seemed to have left out a certain Lizard gentleman there…
But she chose to seek revenge. No one forced her to wear the amulet. As unfortunate as the circumstances may be, she is still accountable for what went down with the amulet. What many of her defenders seem to forget is that she isn’t some poor innocent victim. She is a egotistical jerk. And while not everything that happens to her is her own fault, she brings some of it on herself.
As for the Ursa, well, lies have a way of catching up to you. In this case, they caught up like a steamroller. Though Snips and Snails should have been punished a lot more than they had been.
That will be funny, I hope they show it. I am picturing a partial mental melt down.
Nope I mean exactly what I said. She didn’t intend to do damage her first trip to Ponyville, just to put on a show.
Her second trip she planned to show up Twilight with her new powers, whether you think that is damage is up to you.
In both cases it was an outside force acting upon her. The Ursa being led to town for absurd reasons and a cursed amulet.
I mean she was literally a victim twice so far, that however has little bearing on any criminal culpability she may incur in this new story.
I just want to see her reaction to H.R.M. Princes Twilight Sparkle… Damn thats gonna get some laughs I can hear Trixies thoughts… now Oh buck me!
Yes I know the Video is a reveres of what I’m getting at.
You mean that she has been a jerk, but an unlucky one that somehow did much more damage than she intended.
To be fair she kinda has been so far.
Her first appearance she just humiliates a bunch of hecklers and tells tall tales on stage. Basically that would be it if an Ursa hadn’t been sicked on her which is an absurd reaction to a stage show. No one tried to shove Houdini into real chains and water tanks to see if he’d drown.
Her second appearance, she gets amulet to show up Twilight and become the greatest magician, not the purist of motives but far from pure evil. The amulet however turns out to be pure evil and infects her brain making her delusional and paranoid.
So, so far Trixie literally has been the victim twice. She is a jerk, but kinda a victimy jerk.
low hanging fruit, yay.
