I like to think of this as a nightmare Celestia has.  
One of those dreams where everything is as it should be, but when it ends and reality smashes you in the face you’re crushed under the weight of your own failures.

Absolutely… but also, dat Present Sunset having better things to do than listen to Future Sunset. :) Maybe there really was an epic pony war in the distant future in this timeline. Great picture, though.
