I adjusted the older version of this picture just a little bit and added a background.
The bows are a bit much.
Ever seen a woman fight? (one without combat training) Hell hath no fury…
Women are often incredibly vicious. Male dragons probably think that’s hot.
Oh, I never thought that cute was anything. I was more thinking the most graceful way to maul another dragon’s face off in a fight.
Dragons have an appreciation for visually appealing things including other dragons of course, but that isn’t necessarily a feminine trait. They have their own equivalents for these things. I suppose the more vain dragons like to groom themselves more than others in peaceful situations. As for dragonesses, I think the ideal would be the right mix of grace and deadly ferocity. I don’t think even the most effeminate females would be aiming for looking ‘cute’.
Heh, that really is traditional. Like, I’m not even sure what era that goes back to. The man “owns” the woman and de jure wears the pants, but the woman has de facto control of the relationship.
@QueenCold
Don’t they admire things like polished scales and elegance, though?
So basically, even if he technically owns her and is in charge of her, he’s eating out of her hand because losing her would be his biggest nightmare come true.
Eeyup.
That is how dragons do. Girly dragons don’t have tea parties in frilly dresses, but that doesn’t make them not girly.
Oh, she has the draconic view of love. She must be her mate’s most precious “gem” in their hoard.
That’s incredibly romantic.
Oh, not as second class. She wouldn’t let him claim her if he’s going to treat her with no respect. Allow me to explain it in Jade’s words:
“Where’s my self worth? I know what I’m worth, I’m a prize. I am worth more than any amount of treasure. The dragon who can claim me knows what I am worth too and he’ll be willing to lose any amount of gold or jewels if it was the cost of keeping me safe and in their hoard. No amount of anything will equal what I add to his life, and I will be truly appreciated. A dragon’s hoard isn’t some amount of property, not like you ponies think, it means something to us. It’s a part of us and we cherish our hoards immensely, and only the prized treasures can stand out in such strong love. That’s why I want to be Spike’s prized possession, I want him to love me.”
Like…as a pet? Or as a girlfriend that he treats as second class?
She literally wants Spike to own her.
Don’t know what you mean by that last sentence, but there would be a lot of feminists that would just be happy that a little girl is living like she wants to.
She really isn’t a tomboy, she’s just tough in comparison to fillies. She’s a dragon, 95% of the time they can’t afford to be soft or concerned with dainty things.
Jade is just a baby dragon and acts like one, and though she is mostly concerned with just that, being a kid, she is pretty traditional about a few things. (a few things that would make feminists want to gauge my eyes out, I’m sure)
A tomboyish girl that secretly enjoys girly (in this case, pony) things? What a shock.
Spoiler alert: she doesn’t even dislike pink
