Yes it’s terrible for me to find entertainment out of that, but it’s one of those “I’m so perfect and so bland” characters that anything bad to happen to them (even if it’s minor) is fun to watch…

Don’t laugh; I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what the show writers were thinking of. They’re writing for a female target audience, after all.
Rarity said nearly the same thing about Celestia in the fanfic “Estrus”.
They’ve already proven inept at royally guarding the kingdom.
So why would a princess with no current love interest NOT have a regiment of extremely muscular, handsome, fiercely loyal stallions around her at all times with shiny uniforms that show off their muscles and butts?

It does raise questions, though. Why was an Equestrian pegasus sent to be part of the Crystal Empire royal guard? Exchange program? Exiled for some terrible crime they’re covering up in Canterlot? Secret conspiracy between him and Shining Armor?
