This is still and will forever be canon to my heart. Those Daring Do episodes don’t exist to me and you can’t convince me otherwise

Note that “Author of the Year” and “Daring Do” are separate plaques. Perhaps Twilight Velvet is a retired accomplished author, but regarding the Daring Do novels she’s a publisher or editor.

If I recall Twiligth Sparkle was the one who knew where A.K. Lived and first brougth the mane six to her cabin,so maybe that means something.

I wish that was true. However, the Daring Do über-fangirl Twilight Sparkle would know if her mother were involved in the writing of the Daring Do novels. Also, pretty likely, A.K. Yearling would have visited Twilight’s home every once in a while, and Twilight would have already known her around the events of “Daring Don’t”.
 
Then again, maybe Twilight Velvet is good at hiding the fact that she collaborates with A.K. Yearling, and maybe it was her nonetheless who got her daughter hooked on the Daring Do series. This would contradict that plaque on the wall, though.
 
Or maybe Twilight thought that her mom was the only writer behind the Daring Do books, and that A.K. Yearling was the pseudonym under which she published them. When Twilight met the “real” A.K. Yearling who confessed that she’s Daring Do herself, the latter didn’t mention her co-writer Twilight Velvet with a single word, not knowing that Twilight Sparkle is Twilight Velvet’s daughter.

I prefer the idea of that episode being a dream of Rainbow’s after she crashed into the tree. It makes the whole ordeal go a lot smoother.

The Daring Do books are made by a collaboration between AK Yearling and Twilight Velvet, AK Yearling does the adventuring and basic script while Twilight Velvet does finalizes the script into what we actually read.

Crazy mind: The entire episode took place in one of Twilight Velvet’s stories, as a way of hiding the truth from Rainbow Dash and getting help with her new book.

yeah well…now this is going to sound like just an attempt to salvage a headcannon but what if velvet publishes “A.k.Yearling” daring do or something. We cant know the exact connection but I still believe that velvet plays an important role for the daring do series and in fact does know a good deal about the daring, After all twilight seemed to know a great deal about her too and was even able to get her private address somehow…(or you could just say she used her princess authority but I don’t think she would do that as that seems morally sketchy) I would think that daring is often too busy “Indiana jonesin” around the world and velvet acts as a editor, or something important enough to warrant an award plaque.

Soooo… we now know Daring Do writes her own books

The details of her family are on a “need to know” basis.

Or she wants to maintain her mother’s privacy, but will let her friends know at a suitable time. Or she’s taken over some of the writing duties now as well as being the main proofreader in the past and now the series is drifting towards bad shipfic, with Daring Do’s circle of five exceedingly good friends and newly grown horn.
 
TBH, she only mentioned that she had the series when Rainbow was teasing her for being an egghead, and probably didn’t want to be teased as egghead, daughter of egghead just then.

Wow. It was pretty humble of Twilight to mention that she owns every book in the series but not that her mom wrote them.

Yay! My headcanon is confirmed… damn, now my procrastinated fic idea seems less original.

I’d love to see an episode where Twilight’s mom goes to ponyville to visit her, and Rainbow Dash won’t leave her alone.

Seems likely ,such an esteemed series would more likely be written by a educated noble like Twilights mother,and besides,I doubt the show will divulge the authors identity ,so as far as cannon goes ,I take this hasbro approved comic with its obvious implication.Unless you think she just put a plaque labels daring do next to writing awards for no reason
