I ship these two primarily because of this fanfic, which came out two weeks after the S1 finale and was literally awesome enough to rewrite my headcanons. I suppose many people missed out on it, due it being late to be ported to FIMfiction, but it’s considered by most Soarinjack fans to be the best shipfic out there.

Well while I like Soarinjack myself, Soarin/Spitfire works better because you could work in that they knew each other over the years. (Maybe even as kids.) I honestly found Soarin/Spitfire stories to be really heartfelt.

I’m honestly not a fan of SoarinJack because I don’t like the logic behind it. He bought a pie from her, that’s it. And I agree with OP, the whole pie thing has gotten old. But besides that, he got a pie from her, so what? I like pizza but I don’t want to bone the guy that owns my favorite pizza place. I’m also honestly not a fan of shipping Soarin with anypony that isn’t a pegasus… I really can’t see anypony who’s a professional flier being with somepony who can’t fly.
 
I will say there is some cute art of the ship including this one, I may not like the pairing but they could do much worse IMO (and they have.)

I get SoarinDash and SoarinFire more than I do get this one. The whole apple pie thing is just…old. Despite that, I posted this anyway. Soarin’ needs love.

Odd. Soarin/Spitfire, while still present, also took a hit.
 
I don’t know why, maybe it’s because of the whole ‘he’s a wonderbolt’ thing.
 
Personally, I prefer him with Spitfire, but Applejack was good too.

Sadly, it seems SoarinDash has eclipsed good ol’ Soarinjack in terms of straight ship popularity. Still, it holds some underground appeal.

Also, it’s been a while since I’ve seen Soarinjack. Why is that? It was quite popular back in the day.
