My Little Pony n Friends: S1 E36 Woe is Me (part 1)
The ponies protect a vagabond fleeing from the giant Alligatorsaur, who insists on knowing the refugee’s whereabouts.
Alligatorsaur: “Are you sure?”
Posey: “Of course I’m sure. Besides what’s a big guy like you chasing a little squirt for, anyway?”
Gingerbread: “Yeah, you should be ashamed of yourself!”
Shady: “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?”

Yeah, it seemed to try and do a broad world build, without giving much details on any specific thing.
While FIM is more focused and narrowed.
FiM does a lot more ‘introverted’ focus on pony culture and history and all that. It might end up doing more world-building by the time the series ends, but MLP ’n Friends often had at least two or three new characters or creatures each story (not necessarily each episode).
{Dinosaurs are canon. …FIM! DO IT NOW!}
The more I look at it, g1 had a lot more variety when it came to different sapient races.
FIM doesn’t have that big of a count.
I like how aggressively territorial the ponies are behaving towards a huge dinosaur. Another example of them not being pushovers.
He even leaves. Though gracefully.
But anyways, the valley is once again visited by another big bad…You know, come to think of it, the world of g1 was just filled to the brim with evil doers.
