It’s a little more involved, but what Ponypon said is basically it.
 
A storyboard gives animators a general idea of what the scene will contain in terms of characters, settings, actions, and the like.
 
Examples:  
Is it inside or Outside. Is it in Ponyville, Canterlot, a Cave, etc…. Is it dark outside because of clouds, light outside, night, dawn, dusk, and a slew of other things.

Indeed, very true indeed. Been working on a story for 2 years now since Lesson Zero aired. I wanted to make this story legendary. I wanted to make it a masterpiece that would be among other great stories in the fandom. As time has worn on, I find myself fighting to get back to it, but it just hurts me to work on it at times.
 
Done 15 to 20 revisions on Chapter 1, having at least 7 people proof read it/look at it, and did similar things with chapters 2 and 3. Sad thing is I have ideas written for 4 arcs with 8 chapters per arc for a total of 32 chapters. Not sure if it will ever see the light of day.
 
Right now, i’m just working on some stupid story to keep my mind off things. Magical Anthro fluttershy appearing out of the closest and getting sex because of magical sex spell FTW.

I don’t draw but I do write. Beginning something is always fun but after a while of doing it constantly you get worn down.

And moreso, at the rate that Hasbro seems to put on DHX to push them out. Sibsy’s mentioned many many late nights during the process (as a warning to those that potentially want to get into animation this way)

It’s not about storyboards, it’s about jobs. In Sibsy’s case, she’s a storyboard…type…person. So she’s starting off strong, then as time goes on lethargy sinks in and by the end she’s just wanting to finish.

Don’t get it, what’s wrong with story boards?

Accuracy.  
Since everyone says accurate, I want to say accuracy.

Accurate and relatable.

This is probably more accurate than anything out there.

Accurate for everything.
