Description
Don’t you think if Chrysalis came to the crystal empire that, because the heart is powered by love, it would be just a huge feast for her changelings. Also imagine how powerful she’d be if she ate the love of the crystal heart!
I’m not a fan of the whole “reformed by the power of love” or “I had a tragic backstory so I’m EVIL” setups, but when they legitimately have a good reason for a villain to reform I’m all over it. That, or when the villain and the good guys have to call a truce and team up for a common goal, but the villain is still evil.
I’m not really one for reforming villains, but I’d love to see this just because of the creative way it’s done.
She didn’t have some woobie backstory, and she’s not turning good just because the others are nice to her. She’s turning good out of corruption, which is a great twist to the whole “getting corrupted by evil” thing. I’ve never seen it done at least.
Very well thought out, but I’ve always been mixed, if not against, the idea of Chrissy becoming good, even if it’d ultimately lead to her destruction like you have here.
How about this: She absorbs all it’s power and becomes nigh omnipotent, but at the same time it “corrupts” her and turns her good? Then the twist: Without the crystal heart (which is powerless now), the Crystal Kingdom is doomed and the ponies are left with a choice: depower Good Chrysalis or let the Crystal Kingdom be destroyed.
Then the kicker: Good Chrysalis willingly sacrifices herself to repower the crystal heart, ending in a crowning moment of heartwarming and sadness?
