Slumber Party Folio (all characters are of age)
I’m going to release this for free now. In all honestly, aside from the first image, I’m not at all happy with the quality of this work.
I’ve learned my lesson–doing large private folio content by myself is a huge endevour and pressure on me, and my quality suffers dramatically from it. I won’t be doing any private folios entirely by myself anymore.
Also, I wanna thank askluxbrush for doing the backgrounds. They’re actually really fantastic and I’m jolly well impressed.
I’d been hoping this is what the subject of the portfolio would be, and I’m thrilled to find out that it is. Your Spike stuff is the best.
It wasn’t just that post, but all your follow responses that gave the distinct impression of accusation. But if that wasn’t the case, then I apologize for the misinterpretation on my part.
That’s pretty ironic, considering that I wasn’t really making an assumption, but was just wondering (as I said myself). Although I guess I could have worded it better, as it sounded pretty harsh in hindsight.
It’s pretty much my standard policy to release private folio content several months after I finish it. That has always been the case. The quality of the work (or lack there of) figures into that less than you might think.
And no, no one has ever expressed any kind of upset about me releasing them publicly later. People are more interested in simply supporting me and my work.
I hope you’ll make less inaccurate assumptions in the future. Have a good day.
I mean if a Tumblr moderator looks at this and thinks they look too young, would that disclaimer/description really dissuade them from nuking the account?
What I mean by “these things” is paid content in general.
Do you honestly think anyone would pay actual money for tumblr quality pics?
What goes for “these things” doesn’t for this particular thing. He released it for free, because he is unhappy with how it turned out, not because there is a free/paid distinction. Those who paid don’t get anything extra. There’s not even a notification or anything.
As far as I understand these things, paid stuff tends to come in a higher res than what tumblr allows.
These were released for free on tumblr. In tumblr res.
So those who actually paid for it probably got higher-res copies. You might call that a waste of money, but I’m pretty sure there are people actually willing to pay for that sort of thing.
Presumably, your video game analogy only works if the free version is restricted to a lower resolution and has lower-poly models and lower-quality textures and sound and whatnot, than the paid-for pre-order copy.
Except that it wasn’t a donation, but explicitly a pre-order thing. People who paid for it didn’t give money just to support Ambris, they did it to buy this art pack.
Imagine someone would do that with a video game. Setting up a pre-order and then just release the game for free. That would cause a shitstorm and for good reason.
Supporting the work of someone you appreciate is hardly a waste.
The problem is Tumblr, not the law.
Anyway, I think the “foalcon” tag should be removed.
I don’t get why he did that, the law don’t give a shit as long they aren’t humans in first place.
-All tags are foalcon
Eh?
