Description
With Vinyl & Octavia Day 2024 of Equestria Daily drawing closer, I set up these pipe cleaner sculptures of Vinyl Scratch and Octavia in a little scenery I set up. There are some other scenes and a stop motion animation coming up.
Both pipe cleaner sculptures were completed last year already and I have posted images of Octavia before, but I never got around to create a decent setup for Viny. I wish I had a little more time to do elaborate projects on a more regular basis, but jobs are keeping me rather hooked up these days.

The disco ball was bought, as were the cardboards and the chessboard paper for the walls and the floor. I cut out the horseshoe door and the cutie marks on the wall and wrapped a foil of small mirrors around a cardboard role for the mirror column. As for the cello, I made that one last year for the Octavia figure. I cut it out of four layers of plywood, then glued them togehter, smoothed the edges with sandbaper, painted it and used thin threads for the strings.
There are many things one can come across in every day live that can be repurposed for elements in such dioramas.

It is a lot of fun to set them up. In everyday life I am always looking out for things that can be diverted to play some role in dioramas. I hope to move to a larger place some day with a room where I could set such dioramas up without blocking my living-, working- and dining room (which are the same room at the moment).
