There was nothing wrong with the ending. It brought a close to the huge journey Pip took on after leaving her shelter, and the “ten years later” chapter helped show that the actions of Pip and her friends ultimately changed the Wasteland for the better.

The ending may have been a bit messy and possibly contradictory in regards to the lessons learned earlier in the story, but I think the momentum of the narrative pulled it through to the epilogue.
