Or worse, the logic of “It’s a Hasbro movie, so it sucks” which applied to all films before this (except for Ouija: Origin of Evil and Bumblebee)
The movie? I’m pretty sure it’s real.
The reviews? That depends on how much you value critics. The RT page now does list only 6 “critics” reviews, all of them positive.
That’s absolutely going to change, of course; even if the movie is somehow a grandiose work of art, someone out there with a platform isn’t going to like the message of unity or anti-racism, or that it’s a glorified toy commercial, hates horses after one stepped on their foot, or just doesn’t like bright colours and happiness…
If it goes down to around 60-90%, I wouldn’t mind.

They better. Hasbro has been shat on by critics long enough to the point of people mistrusting the toy company and it being the punching bag of the film industry.
Especially when one film is faithful to the source material by not being a live action movie. (And I’m talking about the previous MLP movie from almost 4 years ago.)

While “professional critics” are often either full of themselves, paid off, or clueless, a major consensus on something being “absolute trash” can be helpful if you’re wanting to save your money and time. If you’ve already decided on watching whatever, no one’s stopping you.
@Hollowfox Jaeger
No. This is just 5 people, and chances are the few critics that watched the previous movie and have watched/will watch this one don’t even remember that they did or what they thought about it (or even know what a “Hasbro” is). Don’t read too much into it all.

This.
Paw Patrol‘s running at 77% right now (67% among top critics), so I wouldn’t set my hopes too low just yet.
And apparently most of them enjoyed it.
It’s been available for a few days now to select people; critics / press, friends and family of the crew, that sort of thing.
I don’t know, but I do believe it’s still too early to call the shots

Very true. You can get more “reliable” scores on IMDb. xP
