I am so happy with how this turned out. I edited out the flying yellow letters that made her name, even going so far as to hand-draw individual pixels to try and smooth out the edge of the edited bits… and it just happens to be a perfect loop too!
Why would it be too difficult in 3D? The cutie marks are just textures.
Some of the toys and screenshots show G5 ponies with cutie marks on both sides. So either it’s an animation error or there’s some story explanation.
Gotta stay calm. Less than two months left. How much until the trailer though? 🤔
@Tetrominon
The toys might’ve only had one, but animated ponies have had a symbol (the phrase “Cutie Mark” arrived later) on both sides since the beginning.
They did something similar with Twilight’s cutie mark in the pony life teasers. Sometimes it was pink, sometimes it was black, and sometimes it was non-existent.
okay
Don’t like one side mark, and how wings clipped on back.
Personally cannot accept it as future g4 Equestria. It is more like alt future Equestria, something absolutely new
Weird… G1 toy ponies have symbols on both sides…
Maybe because it would be hard to keep simmetrical in 3D?
@eqq_scremble
Weirdly enough, her 2D design does have a wavy tail.
Edited
I don’t know why they would choose to go back to it just being on one side. Having a mark on both sides was very iconic, and it allowed viewers to see it no matter what side a pony was facing.
Cutie marks were originally only on the one side since G1; they only became double-sided in FiM due to the technical limitations of Flash.
Mostly I really wish they’d given her tail the same wavy texture as her mane ??? so far it seems like most ponies have the same basic tail shape which is kind of a shame.
Yeah, though it is something that confuses me, especially since ponies always had them on both sides before in this universe. I hope that this isn’t the case for all of G5, and that ponies will get marks on both sides at some point.
The symmetry is ruined.
Green, maroon, and now gold. They really can’t make up their minds, can they?
