Nevertheless, white doves, or release doves, are also beautiful avians, and with such a profound symbolism. They are universal symbols of peace, especially when holding an olive branch in their beaks, and to also symbolize the Holy Spirit in Christian iconography.
 
I can see why white doves were used for Twilight Sparkle’s coronation, to represent her ushering in a new age of peace and harmony as the new ruler. Also since Twilight has been sort of a Christ figure throughout the series, the doves would also reflect this symbolism. I wonder if Christian Bronies noticed that when watching the final episode. But I’m sure the first symbolism makes more sense for the overall viewers, but still. Food for thought.
