Again, not really. I mean, if this was Gen 4 style, all of them would barely count as a background ponies. The colors are just a bit too soft and grey, and the lack of a cutie mark really hurt it.

I was referring to the bland, unimaginative designs. I mean, if garbage has flowing movement, it’s still garbage, it just moves nicely.
Did you see it in motion or are you just basing this on this screencap? Most agree this is fluid animation.

would you say that about Doctor who every time the Doctor regenerates and becomes a diferent person? hasbro doesn’t end an era and start a new generation because it hates it’s fans… think of it like g4 regenerating into g5. it’s a change but a necessary one. it is essentially the phoenix dropping it’s last feather and burning to ashes to be reborn. g5 will be a drastic change yes… to paraphrase the 11th Doctor’s final speech before his regeneration into the 12th doctor

The CGI is because Paramount didn’t want nothing to do with 2D features. But Hasbro actually doesn’t like the fandom that much (really can’t blame them), if the leaked emails from December 2017 are any indication! I think we’re more of a necessary evil to them.

Both this and the other image of Sunny lack CMs, but the toys and the blanket have them. I’d say these are pre-final cuts without the CMs renders. Don’t read too much into that.
