So apparently this is what the G5 movie will be about. Let’s hope there’s not a single hint of FiM or what happened in it or else this’ll have to get revised as well.

The October story is beginning to look more like a severe case of “Cowboy Bebop at his computer” in addition to having blatant lies.
No version was “choosen”, this was just fake nonsense and it’s not uncommon for 4Chan. Also, already back then it was easy to recognise as fake because Hasbro is very limited it what it can do as brushable toys, that’s the reason why we never had brushables of the whole Young6 either and it makes no sense to have a main cast that can’t be produced.
Someone made a mistake. The November version has been chosen over the October version. If there is misinformation, this must be completely reversed, older and younger fans of the MLP are not stupid. That friendship does not last long and then a common society has emerged based on coexistence through separation is a thing in itself, but the information about “no magic” is just too stupid.
It’s still too early, but the solitary enlightenment, “no magic”, overturns everything. The MLP world is based on magic.
I couldn´t stop laughing because here in Spain there is a theme park with almost the same name: Terra MITICA

Yep, it’s terrible! And besides, the October one is more interesting and believable.
I’m pretty sure almost everyone here agrees it’s wrong, even most of the ones that believe the October one.
Yes.
Wasnt there a Equestria at War with King Sombra timeline in Season 6 ?
“Get woke, go broke.”
They did manage to get the whole “activist” thing right though. Could be a lucky guess, or maybe an earlier leak revealed the whole activist main character before it was officially revealed a few days ago.
Still better than nothing.
What if they only show us toys?

Yes, the October variant is much more believable and appealing. If it turns out to be fake, somebody should make a fanfic related to it! Anyway, let’s wait until February 25th.
Plus the whole “other country” thing doesn’t line up with it being a continuation of G4 like they said.
All will be answered in the Hasbro investors meeting on the 25th. -
If they reveal anything at all that is-But the November post is likely to have copied down (and re-worded) information from the October post and there are moments where the post conflicts with both the October 2020 post and the KidScreen article. For example:

There are many fans who will preserve G4 and “freeze” this, and then will not know of the consequences that will then arise, as G5 must continue in the same world as G4. Faust had chosen to make G1 a mysterious past with strong vagueness, and thus created a lore in Seasons 1-3 that made G4 a success. This is why many who are not so fanatical, like the idea that G5 should continue where G4 stopped, and it is after all officially said that the movie will be a transition from G4 to G5, with the lore and elements taken from the previous generation .
After all, the children who grow up must learn that there is no constant, that everything is changing with time. Equestria has a future, and it is therefore natural that G5 should take place there, not in a foreign world with no connection whatsoever with G4. And the new “variant” presented in November 2020 is even more dystopian - after all, “The Dark Crystal” is far less traumatic than “1984” which is intended for an adult audience.
The first variant of the G5 with a corrupt government with strict legislation in place that would rule under the idea of maintaining peace and order, even if it happens at the expense of friendship and solidarity, is considerably far more appealing. For the second and newer variant is far too reminiscent of a combination of the Indian caste system and the movie “1984”. This is much darker than what can be accepted for children aged 8 to 14 years.
Furthermore; our hero - as the first variant is meant to be a stallion with a metal wing and with a daughter - could freely spend time with others who are not of his kind and thus become friends with them. Here, the second variant means that everyday life and social interaction are so regulated that it is not even possible to establish contact across the boundaries. How can our heroine, if she is a female, move around and make friends without becoming a rebel?
In the first variant, one can get the impression that Equestria has coexistence where everyone cooperates for “common good” even if they have to live separately from each other. In the second variant, it is simply not possible to have such a state where one is kept apart and forced to live in certain castes, then one must have a much more brutal and possibly militaristic regime that must be able to hold together the realm that will constantly be on the verge of dissolving state. The pegasi is obviously militaristic.
The new variant cannot be accepted; it’s simply too dark.
Yes, that sounds a bit to dark. Then again, we had stuff like Starlight’s village which was basically a child-friendly version of a cult, including the brainwashing and public shaming.
In any case if they do set this in the same world as G4, this would be the way to do it. Set it in a land distant from Equestria, so that they don’t have to deal with too much of the pre-established lore they set up, save for the basic stuff. (i.e. They can keep cutie marks, the magic system, pony races, but they don’t have to deal with stuff like the Tree of Harmony or Starswirl or any of the complicated lore stuff)
This would also leave the door open to having the Mane 6 crossover, without having to answer the question of why they can’t just step in to solve every serious problem in the show.
