Talk about the japanese cartoon Doraemon that is popular in the east and existed long before MLP:FiM, the series wasn’t lucky enough to have its Manga finished because the original creator died just when it is about to finish, but the fans in the east still lives on, MLP:FiM is luckier to able to finish on time just some months before the infamous year 2020, yet the fandom persists as well, globally.
Too bad the show itself didn’t last as long.

Fair enough. My point was more “back when you became a fan, did you think you’d stay for the long-haul?” In terms of modern stuff, FiM is the longest I’ve been attached to a fandom, which to 2010 me would seem fucking wild, as I tend to be leery of fantasy shows.
2014 is the year of the horse, so in that year “My Little Pony” began to appear on all TV animation channels in China (such as CCTV14), and I also learned about this animation through these TV animation channels

Wild eh? You ever think that back in 2010 you’d be part of a fandom that had existed for a decade at that point?
Too bad the majority of the fans are like “The show’s over, get over it” because Hasbro cancelled G4 in favor of G5.

It had a continuing storyline. Rate in a cartoon. We saw the characters grow from small town characters to ones that had a place on the national stage. That right there is a big thing. Honestly I think we needed another season due to the open ended nature of several ‘villain’s characters like Lightning Dust or Blueblood getting some form of redemption.

Then, another reboot should have been made and EqG would have stopped at the second film.
Too long of a run if you ask me. MLP should have ended after season 4.
