Yes 😀
My headcanon for years has now become a reality.
the irony is the fact they probably still use slavery drawn carriages and their houses are still made of loose stones and hay.
I think I understand what you mean. Also, PL currently is a mystery to me; I haven’t watched it (yet).
And Pony Life hasn’t butchered the characters personalities
Yeah, P.L isn’t quite as edgy, and still a bit sweet-natured like past MLP shows. The humor’s just a bit more Looney Tunes now.
Also I believe you mentioned about characters in ttg are very mean spirited.Even in the latest home Life episodes where Pinkie’s are being a bit selfish as soon as they realise what they were doing they tried very hard to help her
I still disagree that P.L. & TTG are similar. TTG is a bit more sitcom-ish and aimed at preteens, while P.L. is more cartoony.
It looks like that people only make us think they demonize PL. Some opinions shouldn’t be taken seriously, I guess. Also, it’s possible that someone doesn’t say the truth, intentionally, but still enjoys the show.
Even if people use TTG to demonize PL, I wonder why it’s TTG. It must be, at least, because both PL and TTG are similar to each other: PL is different from FIM, similarly like TTG is different from TT; both are new, but the characters are same as before. The more people talk about TTG, the more it feels like that they secretly love it.
I was pleased to hear how many positive moments you’ve found in the show, especially from someone who doesn’t really love it. I’ve never watched that movie, but I believe it was good (if not great). You said it was enjoyed by even people who hate TTG. But I doubt that there’re such people. Hate is a strong word; I don’t believe that someone could hate TTG.
For me, speaking metaphorically, TTG seems trying to be “unpredictable”; it’s the element that makes it good. Maybe the show wasn’t meant for everyone; probably, everybody has their different tastes with television. We don’t need another PL, since we already have one, same goes for TTG.
So, you say it’d be better if it had more action. Since it’s a comedy, I think it already is something what the comedy supposed to be – Funny, cleaver, and entertaining. If you think that there should be more action because of main characters, since they’re “super-heroes”, then I would like to be sure if that’s not just the theme. It looks like TTG has “connection” with TT, and TT probably wasn’t a comedy (at all). I’ve watched TTG, but I’ve never watched TT, so I don’t know what to say about it. For me, it seems really hard if not impossible to make the show being still a comedy with all seriousness at the same time.
P.S. I’m sorry for the late reply, in the case it is.
the show constantly has beam clashes as well, and very often deals with unusual beings with unusual and unique abilities that they have to figure out the weakness of to defeat, not to mention several concepts and abilities are ripped straight out of dragon ball, such as tirek’s ability to drain energy being taken from the androids, Pinkie pie might even be a bit inspired by Majin Buu a bit for a number of reasons.
And the show never did a fight like that afterwards
she can literally teleport like goku can.
Eh, I’ve seen similar “epic magic battles” in other things. (Even Harry Potter had several epic magic battles.) It’s nothing unique to DBZ.
Funny thing is, Hasbro’s only mandate was, Twilight can’t punch Tirek in the face. Blasting him, and blowing him up is fine though.
looks like someone missed the first fight with Tirek.
Um, you ever seen any episode past Season 3? MLP:FIM is definitely not DBZ. They still taught lessons too, even PL does. Which also what sets them apart from TT & TTG.
Teen Titans Go, the show has already become out of place from what made it popular to begin with, and considering what has been going on with MLP, it started doing that the moment twilight became a princess and stopped teaching life lessons and turned into dragon ball z.
Forgets what?
this entire conversation validates my point, everyone forgets until it’s important.
Because people are using TTG to demonize PL, and it’s getting old.
Truthfully, I’ll admit TTG isn’t all bad like some claim, (I’ve watched it a few times with my nephews whom like it) it has it’s occasional genuinely funny or clever moments… (Like Cyborg’s explanation on what VHS is, a gag for parents)
The “Night Will Shine” (or whatever it’s called) ‘80s style rock opra style episode was pretty impressive, well animated, and the song was catchy, (and has become a popular ep’, even with those that TTG) and the movie itself was enjoyed by even people whom hate TTG, as well.
(And I’ll give them kudos for having Weird Al guest appearance in the show too.)
So in truth, I don’t hate TTG, but I don’t really love it either, as usually it’s humor is too mean-spirited for me, and it gets old the characters always trying to dick each other over, and such. It’d also be better if it had more action, and didn’t just try to be a sitcom.
Honestly, PL is better IMO, because despite it’s silliness, the innocence, and fact the pony characters care about each other is still there, and it’s not just “edgy humor” like TTG.
Edited
tfw, you realize that the people loves TTG.
Why would you talk about a show you don’t like at the first place?
And that was still part of generation 1
Have you even seen TTG? Not every “silly, cartoony” show is like TTG, in fact honestly TTG is more “preteen sitcom”-ish, and more darker/edgier humor, while PL isn’t. The ponies in TTG don’t even look like the ones in PL.
If you think PL is like TTG just for having some modern appliances, and stuff in it, then in that case My Little Pony Tales from the ’90s is like TTG too then… (It had cars, phones, roller skates, mohawks, and stuff.)
