It should have been, according to original plan from leaks. Plan got scrapped, but Treehouse of Harmony was left, purposeless.

Potential Gen 5 implied a while back. Nothing to suggest it won’t happen once this pandemic has ended.

The elements of harmony were not brought back though
MLP:FiM was given the green light by Hasbro because they wanted to sell toys. The fact that no toy for this exists shows that Hasbro lacks confidence in FiM’s ability to sell toys, which is probably why the series was canceled when it was.
Wouldn’t it be though? Trying to squeeze out one last toy in literally the last season? But now that there is no toy, it further proves this addition was not only pointless, but also destroyed any tension from King Sombra’s attack.
Obviously Hasbro has to make sacrifices to the dark gods of chaos every now and then, don’t be unreasonable.

Honestly, it bums me out a little. This is one that could have made a pretty cool playset. I don’t think they even made toys of the student 6 at all.
I dont think a giant company like Hasbro cares about what a statistically insignificant group of people on the internet think about their products.
When it first appeared people kept saying it was just a toy plug and if you would point out it didn’t have a toy they would usually just say no pony yet
