It’s not a required symptom to have hair growth, but it’s common. A few of my friends have the hair growth and it’s not uncommon to happen. A lot of cis women just…. hide it, if they do have it, but it’s just kinda like… they shouldn’t have to? I mean, it’s their body, just doing it’s thing, and even if they have medication for the more harmful parts of PCOS, it doesn’t really take that away. It’s not harmful, but not so socially acceptable, and that’s unfair. It’s their body.
So, seeing representation of stuff like that, is such a good thing.

My mom has that. (Two kids, even after the doctors said she couldn’t get pregnant. Score.) But as far as I know, she doesn’t have the hormonal problems associated with it. No “male features”, no menstrual weirdness. Maybe her weight’s attributable to it, but I’m not a doctor.

How much body hair a person is going to have is down to genetics. Some people naturally have very light hair on their arms (men and women alike), while others have very thick hair (men and women alike). It’s one of those things that COULD be used to make characters more unique from one-another that rarely is. In most animation it’s only really used for “that one dude” who is built like a mack truck and has the body hair of a grizzly bear. To be fair, this is probably as much because body hair adds detail (and cost) to animation that they would rather save by just not bothering if they don’t have a reason to.

I agree. Plus I think AJ or RD don’t have time to waste for shaving. It’s just useless.
But AJ’s hairy arms are just weird to me. I have never seen it used like that on girl character plus if she’s not trans I don’t think she would have such visible hair on her arms.
And then again, why she has hairy arms but RD doesn’t?

As a guy who likes him some smooth girlflesh, even I think the social expectation that women constantly shave and wax every inch of their body is excessive.

That really only applies to swimmers, which Rainbow Dash is not. Body hair isn’t gonna affect a basketball or soccer player.
