In our family portrait
We look pretty happy
We look pretty normal
Let’s go back to that.
My first piece I’ve put a butt ton of effort into in a while and it’s ponies. Go figure.
So at first glance, Parlor Tricks has a pretty good life. He’s got two mothers who love him, he’s magically talented, he’s working on school stuff and learning about friendship, so… what could go wrong? Well, Starlight and Trixie don’t have the best relationship. Their marriage started out pretty great. They love each other and want to settle down to have a family, though the ‘settling down’ part is largely in quotations since Trixie still takes her show on the road pretty often. Even after Parlor Tricks is born. Their personalities still clash quite a bit, and underlying problems become more frequent between the two as Parlor grows older. This leads to more fighting between the two.
Parlor Tricks remembers the good more often than the bad. He focuses as hard as he can on when times were good so he can drown out the bad between his mothers. Truth be told, he fears they won’t stay together. And what would become of their family if they were to split apart?
