Description
It seems like people may have forgotten that even with all the bathos she’s suffered in the last two seasons, Chrysalis is still a creepy, dangerous, nightmare bug.
And don’t forget this one:
Yeah, Starlight has amazing reflexes.
I like to imagine every important character has important combat skills.
I really could see that happening, picture Starlight being downcast.
Starlight does seem to have some great reflexes, on a related topic.

(I wish the last one was available as a gif, but she ducked that rapidly)
She also jumped out of the way pretty smoothly when Chrysalis saw her trying to destroy her throne with a rock, and tried to blast her.
She doesn’t come off as unskilled by any means regarding combat.

Yes, but it will take rigorous training and some serious teeth filing.
@redweasel
I understood that reference.
Forget about Starlight, how about the fact that attacking at this exact moment would swiftly get Chrysalis injured or killed… by almost anyone else standing there, including 4 adult alicorns, and Discord (okay, granted he might not do anything, as long as someone else can do the job just fine, but he might still be pissed off enough by Fluttershy getting kidnapped that he would personally do something, in that moment).
This attack plan would be the embodiment of why Chrysalis’ counterargument in The Mean Six to Mean Twilight was absolutely valid: she can’t win alone, and here, she wouldn’t even have the element of surprise, because everyone’s paying attention to them, so she wouldn’t even have the possible benefit of “oh no, that photographer killed X when our heads were turned.”

>“DON’T CALL ME BUGBUTT”
>“Here, have a Snickers(tm)”
>“You know I’m an arcanovore who can only feed off targets that feel affection for me, right?”
“Oh.”
“So, as I was saying, BITE YER FACE OFF WHARRRGARBL”
I like to think her reaction speed is pretty on point though.
Nothing againts bug queen
Especially when the other two you’re around really aren’t idiots themselves.
It would probably end up being better for Equestria, and the world at large if their upcoming backstabbing idea doesn’t go exactly as planned, but on the flipside, Grogar seems like he’s specifically meant to be irredeemable so far.
Everything about him seems to be meant to be kinda… off, from the way his posture generally makes him look a bit unhinged, to how he gives you the impression that he’d probably kill a child, evil or not.
It would be amusing if he was stomped by his own Legion of Doom and Twilight and pals never encountered him though, wouldn’t it?
Edited because: Added the bit at the end
she can nom on my face any day
I’d say that being able to even pretend to play nice with others to reach a mutually beneficial goal makes her even more dangerous, because she’s a lot less likely to let hubris trip her up next time if there’s someone else around to point out any obvious flaws in her plans.
