Only my favorite mangaka ever! Akira Koijima. He wrote Mahoraba Heartful Days a a slice of life manga and anime back in 2005.
I love Mahoraba Heartful Days as much as My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. It’s like my “pony show” over on the anime side so I was pleasantly surprise to see your avatar. XD
Akira Kojima often portrays himself as a box with wire like arms and legs. You’ll be shocked at the similarities.
Take a look if you are interested: https://myanimelist.net/people/2572/Akira_Kojima

Alright then, have 110% XD
Also, which mangaka does my avatar remind you of?
:D why not a 100.20%
Also nice avatar, reminds me of a certain mangaka.
Agree with you 100.1%
It sounds like we agree more than disagree then. The only point of divergence is that I put more weight on this subtext I detect. Of course Rarijack is not “canon” in the sense that they are not officially lesbians or in a relationship, or even officially romantically interested in each other, but I think there is enough in the canonical text to be able to say it is “canonically” a possibility that the story as written is raising. Subtext, practically by definition, is in a shadowy border zone between canon and not-canon. Schroedinger’s Canon, if you like: I observe it, therefore it is present; at the same time, you do not, therefore it isn’t.
lol
And to be clear, I don’t particularly care if people want to pretend that there is something more between these two. Because even if I think putting your sleeping friend in their bed is a nice thing you can do completely devoid of romantic intentions, or that Rarity’s friends can be startled by her apparent male doppelganger solely on the basis of it being a surprise to randomly find someone who looks that much like her, I understand that there are other interpretations people can have. But until they actually follow through on those other interpretations, and make them a legitimate couple, an interpretation is all it can really be.
Okay?
I’m not convinced…
Anyway, even if it were true that best friends are constantly falling in love with R63 versions of each other and going on glamping holidays for two with one 4-poster bed between them, it wouldn’t mean that in this particular case, given that the Rarijack ship exists and is popular and the team are no doubt aware of that, the shippy subtext isn’t deliberate. I think it manifestly is, and as I said, it’s obtuse to deny it at this stage.
Edited because: not enough negatives
Yes.
Are you for real?
You’re reading too much into this. All of that is stuff best friends do all the time.
For ‘sexual innuendos’, yes, quite possibly, but I think it would be obtuse at this point to deny that the production team are nudge-nudge-wink-winking to Rarijack shippers. Rollercoaster of Friendship does it to the point of absurdity. The bit in Spring Breakdown where the others notice that Ragamuffin is a genderbent AJ when she comes and stands next to him is canon (or else what do you think they’re reacting to?). Then we had the bedroom design one where AJ builds Rarity a boudoir and then puts her to bed in it, and now there’s the suggestive stuff in this one.
The cumulative impression it all gives to me is that Rarity is (“canonically”, if you like) infatuated with Applejack without realising it and vice versa, and the others have started to notice. I would not expect this ever to be explicitly confirmed. It is a mature subtext targeted at hardcore fans, and will surely stay that way. There is no reason to suppose the production team are not clever enough or sufficiently aware of the fandom to include such subtexts, and every reason to think that they do, in fact, respond to fan-generated ideas.
Edited
Agreed.
Text language .
Seriously though, you jest, but I swear, sometimes, I think people actually think like that about some of this stuff.
I don’t even mind the ship. It’s cute enough although I always liked Raridash better, and, well, look how that worked out, but I just can’t see it as canon until Hasbro actually takes the step to legitimize it.
Psssht! As if! Next you’ll try to tell me that all those freeze-frames of ponies with bedroom eyes mid-blink isn’t subliminal conditioning to create a broader demand for more clop art. All patt of the show staff’s master plan to get more money out of awkward fans at conventions.
KEEP LIVING IN DENIAL!
Agreed.
I really think you both are reading too much into something that wasn’t actually intended the way you think it was.
The sexual innuendoes though. They’re getting more bold.
