Dragons
Dragons are a feared species, since they’re almost completely unknown by ponies, zebras, bisons and deers. They can grow till the size of a mountain, but those are quite rare and live on the highest cliffs or in the most dangerous bays. Some dragons can swim, too, and if so they’re vulgarly called “water monsters”. Most of them have wings and spikes on their back, even though females could not have them. There are infinite varieties of aspect and physical features: from having no arms and only wings, to having two or more pair of wings, from having feathers instead of scales or skin. Some are born with horns, like Unicorns, and in this case they can use a particular form of magic based on Elements (not telekinesis or anything else like Unicorns). They may or may not have wings, which can be really big or really small, useful or completely useless, being only an attractive feature for females (even though those have wings as well).

Dragons don’t have schools, so little dragons learn everything from their parents. Parents theach them all what they know and it is usual that it all families words or gestures can mean another what parens told. Dragons, while they grow, are self-developing and learning from others what gesture or word is certain thing have.

Unhatched
Celestia found the egg, its parents nowhere in sight. It’s unusual that both parents were missing from the nesting site. When it came to needing to leave, one would stay with it while the other would go out to find some food. A quick scan from Celestia revealed the reasoning for the egg’s abandonment. It was completely inert, as in, it would never hatch. No one would come back for it, so Celestia decided to bring it back with her, allowing the staff to use it as a test to measure the level of power and determination of each individual filly who participated in her school’s entrance exam.
Newborn
The hatching of Spike’s egg is one that completely baffles several experts, including Celestia herself (although she has a better idea of how it happened). Spike’s egg only managed to hatch because Twilight literally FORCED it to. While in her magic-crazed state during her exam, she used unconsciously used her magic to fertilize the egg, speed up its development process, and hatched it to reveal a fully developed and perfectly healthy hatchling.
Spike was initially taken away to be examined by doctors, all of them amazed and curious as to how a filly managed to complete such a feat. Celestia ended up ordering the young drake back to Twilight, due to him waking up screaming when he didn’t see her anywhere. The crying immediately stopped upon laying eyes on Twilight again, and from that point on Spike is taken under her care.
Spike at this point is very dependent on Twilight, and refuses to be away from her for any length of time. Twilight doesn’t mind though. She immediately feels a maternal love toward the little dragon, and her time at the university isn’t as lonely.
Infant
As he grows older, Spike begins to try help Twilight out in the house, especially with books. What he really likes, though, is when Twilight tells him bedtime stories, especially when they’re one either she makes up on her own or are some of the improvised stories her own mother told her when she was his age.
Teenager
Twilight taught him everything what she knows about dragons: languie, some gestures, she even taught him how to hunt. Spike can switch between being bipedal or quadrupedal whenever he feels like it. He’ll eventually get to the point where his body begins to develop more for quadrupedal locomotion. As he grows older and bigger, he will be allowed to accompany the Mane 6 on their more dangerous adventures more often.
Adult
He has become a personal bodyguard to Twilight and the Mane 6, as well as their primary means as transportation when travelling the world. As he was grow he self-developed. He knows how to swim, speaks Dragons Languige and knows all gestures. He understand, that without Twilight he would never have been born and he pay to her a lot of atantion.
