Research literally any temperature change model available, I’d post one here, but it would be too massive for the page. Long story short, we’ve experienced several dozen millenia worth of temperature increases since the industrial revolution. Which was a mere century ago, by the way.
 
And claiming Big Gubmint isn’t the way to fix it, when corporations and the average citizenry clearly don’t give a shit, is an entirely defeatist attitude.

I don’t necessarily think that it’s stupid not to believe everything we’re expected to believe about global warming, e.g. that it’s 100% attributable to human activity or that only big government can counteract it. I was just being hyperbolic for the sake of humor, telling a joke at my own expense.  
Anyway, even when someone says someone you think is stupid, you don’t necessarily have to correct them, and you certainly don’t have to shame them like you shamed me. If anything that’ll just turn more people away from your way of thinking out of resentment.
