Idea for an episode, Trixie puts on the Alicorn Amulet again to save her friends from the latest villain. Perhaps Zecora gave it to her under the assumption that Trixie would be prepared for its corrupting influence this time.

Trixie holds onto her sanity long enough to help defeat the villain but than has a Frodo moment and refuses to take it off and has to be talked down or saved by Starlight/Twilight.
