This is also true. We all just want best siren to be happy
Also at least one of Aria’s grandkids is married, so he might have kids of his own.

hm you perhaps may be onto something. Honestly Adagio should just adopt a child or something. Hell Sci-Twi and Sunset have a newborn baby who I am POSITIVE Adagio would spoil to death(Is it a coincidence she hasn’t seen their baby yet and Aria has? I THINK NOT!) She clearly wants to feel like a mother again now that she knows she can’t have babies herself anymore and so rather than sulking? She should just find ways to spread the love she has built up rather than just holding it in and feeling miserable. She has Honeycrisp and I am sure with time Dolly will come out(I hope) and heck I am sure her previous daughter who is in the hospital must’ve had kids who maybe also now have kids.
She wants to show love and be loved and that’s a big reason why I like her in this comic and why I am patiently waiting for Sonata to have her thot ass dumped by Neighsay just so there can be some damn karmic balance.
Operation: Happy Aria is go.
Objective? Find the Human Sunset.
Seriously, I’m kinda shocked that just occurred to me, especially considering Aria lost Sunset to Sci-Twi, and not Princess Twilight.
Bingo right on the money. So Hell I say? Have Neighsay dump her ass or cut her off from his money and see how far she gets(Even though she says she can easily get a new one I want to believe karma will kick her in the twat)
pretty much this tbh - I want to see Aria happy, I want to see Adagio with hope for her future, and I want to see Sonata actually give a shit about someone for a change instead of being some kind of day tripper who will openly and gleefully tell her children she doesn’t care about them (yeah don’t think I forgot about that)
she’s just been really hard to empathize with in this story, and I’m sure that was the intention but it doesn’t make it any less assholeish of her to be the way she is and get away with it while Adagio and Aria are left to pick up the slack in addition to their own mental/physical suffering - I’m pretty sure Sonata’s gotten the word “ditz” confused with “dick” as well, because instead of helping her child bond with Adagio she openly laughed at Adagio, even after she was let off the hook for shooting out babies left and right like the T-shirt cannon at a sports game
and that’s the worst part - Sonata is completely aware I hope of how miserable they are and yet she’s still fucking going at it and pushing buttons just for the hell of it
again I’m just finding it super difficult to have any sympathy for Sonata’s case, even if we’re shown just how bad Adagio and Aria were as well in the past, we at least have enough to show that they’ve fucking learned from their mistakes and are at least trying to be better people and improve themselves but the world isn’t letting them do that
we’re starting to reach a point where I feel like it’s gonna be too late to hit Sonata with the redemption/sympathy cannon after how much of a careless thot we’ve seen her be

I think it’s cause we expect and know Adagio and Aria were evil and fucked up but they’ve shown to at least grown past that. Sonata on the other hand just seems like she’s an enabled slut who gets to do what she wants and gets a free pass from others cause she’s a ditz even though it’s been said she’s not THAT dumb.
Again we just want justice is all. Aria got her heart broken by Sunset Shimmer. Adagio is clearly the most hurt that she can’t have kids anymore. Sonata just seems like she can get away with whatever and that’s where I think most of us are mad.
Now me being an optimist? I know things will get better for Adagio and Aria cause they want things to be better and for things to change for the better. Sonata just doesn’t seem to give a damn at all cause Neighsay is her ‘daddy’.
So yeah let’s have Dagi find some happiness (seriously how has she not met Sparkling Sapphire yet unless your planning something you sly sumbitch) have Ari find some happiness and have Sonata get served a piping hot plate of karma with a side of JUSTICE
I would buy that, but as is also common in other siren-related stuff, I don’t see anyone ribbing Sonata at all, or even calling her on her behaviour (EDIT: Sorry, should have specified, calling her on it in-universe, not as one of the comments), I see her getting away with her antics as always.
It was exactly that scene that cemented her as the worst of the bunch. She outlined, in no uncertain terms, that she was a self-absorbed hypocrite incapable of feeling for anyone else, even leaving off with bailing because she didn’t like people holding her accountable for her actions.
I don’t think she’s had a single good moment for this entire comic.
With regard to the last several pages and reactions to them, one has to wonder if that (even if it’s as bad as what Sonata pulled with her kids) was in the plans already, or if it’s something you came up with recently in the hope of ‘balancing out’ peoples’ reactions to Sonata. :/
Even if you really did already have that written out, however, it still doesn’t change the fact that, again, Aria and Adagio have shown humanity and behavior people can understand and sympathize with where Sonata has not. If that’s still the case by that time, I wouldn’t say anyone was out of line for feeling the same as they do now.

Well no worries there then. You’re gonna get happy Dagi very soon lol
A lot of what you said is fair, and I’m usually the type to be hands off with comments since I know what’s coming in the future lol
But I will rebut one thing at least. You weren’t expected to laugh with Sonata, she just found it hilarious because; “You came in here, yelled at me and chewed me out, when I was doing nothing wrong, and then the kid you did that for rejected you and still likes me more. That’s hilarious to me.” They’re sisters of over a thousand years, they’re gonna rib each other from time to time lol
I also ask you to point to a non flashback scene where Sonata has been a horrendous human being. The only example I can think of is her throwing a tantrum when everyone showed up and started calling her a bitch and a horrible person, and it’s like “Well what was she supposed to do? NOT get angry when a bunch of people started insulting her all at once?” She was answering answers perfectly fine and normally until people did that lol.
If it’s because she not riddled with guilt and depression over recent events, its cause she hasn’t had anything TO be riddled with guilt or depression about. After all, she didn’t want kids so being barren doesn’t make her sad. She hasn’t had a love to lose like Aria did with Sunset, so she’s been fine there. She’s happy with Neighsay and having fun with life and not hurting anyone.
I meant it when I said it feels disproportionate, because I get the feeling that when I get around to showing how evil Adagio and Aria actually were, they’re gonna get a free pass while Sonata will still be under the bus lol
In the end many of us just want Adagio to be happy cause for most of this comic it seems like she’s been miserable or picking up the slack for the other two. Yes in the past she was terrible BUT I think and feel her being a good mother like she has been shows she’s sorry for all she did in the past moreso now that she can’t be a mother anymore.
Sonata laughing at her like she did was just wrong and there need to be JUSTICE! Justice dab on em (points if you get that reference)
@CarouselUnique
People react to what you show them. You’ve shown us Sonata being unforgivably horrible and Dolly acting like her mother, neither with any indication that either was going to change before people reacted to what you showed them, in what I figured was a reaction to what those comments showed you.
If you’re saying we should have all sat back and said nothing while assuming it would get better later, I’m sorry, but I’m afraid you haven’t really earned that kind of faith. Even if this comic didn’t heavily lean toward misery for pretty much everyone so far, I’ve seen way too much siren-related fan work to assume Sonata won’t be unconditionally treated with kid-gloves, and artists/writers have a way of falling in love with their OCs (“She’s an angel and deserves the world.” -You) and letting them off the hook pretty easily too.
@jakeheritagu
I repeat: Aria and Adagio have shown signs of growth and humanity. Sonata has not. I can only speak for myself, but that’s the detail that singles her out as deserving of some kind of retribution in my eyes.
Which I feel is perfectly accurate! The thing is, if that was your aim, if this was, as Carousel says, the reaction you wanted, congratulations; you’ve succeeded. People hating her guts is the result.
No one is saying the other sirens would have or should have (from their own POV) punished Sonata for her older crimes. Reading other comments, I’m pretty sure the consensus (among those of us that care) is that she’s an atrocious human being today, and since she staunchly refuses to learn or grow, deserves to suffer horribly for the pain she’s more than happy to cause/rub in at every opportunity.
Most recently? She laughed at the grieving mother-figure that may have been the reason she’s survived this long, yet with the way that scene was drawn, I get the impression that we were collectively expected to laugh with her. This is the kind of thing I was referring to in response to Carousel; Sonata tends to be instantly forgiven and dodge karma in fan-made material where Aria and Adagio (mainly Adagio) suffer either for laughs or drama. That is why I’m wary of what I’ve been seeing here; until people spoke up, it was pretty much just that.
Nah, it doesn’t sound crazy, it just sounds disproportional. Like yeah, she is selfish and childish, and not remorseful for her actions, but they were literally hundreds and hundreds of years ago and hundreds of years apart. Meanwhile Dagi and Aria were being cruel to people close to tens of years ago, seeing as Aria had said they only stopped when they lost their pendants, and that was only 6-7 years ago.
I write Sonata like she was in canon, a happy, childish ditz who was okay (and even enjoyed) when they were evil but wasn’t the mastermind and wanted to be praised with attention.
Should she be punished for her actions? Maybe. But she hasn’t actually done anything recently for the Dazzling’s to ‘punish’ her for now. They aren’t going to suddenly retroactively punish Sonata for things they themselves didn’t care that she did lol
For the most part this is the reaction we wanted but I think lately the calling for her head and calling for revenge instead of letting us build to something of that nature and literally jumping to write off her latest child as evil because she didn’t immeadiately pull a Honeycrisp and start adoring Auntie Dagi is where we have to start drawing the line. So many people started jumping to assuming Dolly was going to be evil just because she was uncomfortable with Adagio to start and that’s off of the visceral reactions to Sonata.
Considering that Adagio has been almost 100% sympathetic from the start of this and Sonata has been the opposite? I’d say the reaction makes perfect sense. You’ve shown us Aria and Adagio growing from what they were and Sonata not growing in the slightest, having been considerably more loathesome than either of them to boot.
Like, does it sound crazy to hate someone for being an utterly selfish monster even if they’re ‘not hurting anyone’? Because assuming you’re the one writing this thing, that’s the Sonata you’ve written. Aria’s evil is in the past and her pain and regret are very much in the present. Adagio’s evil is in the past and her grief is the present. Sonata was a total bitch and still is, showing no development or introspection whatsoever. Do you really think we’re just arbitrarily mad at her for no reason?
To be fair, since I started drawing the comic, none of the Dazzlings have done anything actually EVIL. Everything they’ve done has been in the past, and even Sonata hasn’t hurt anyone in modern times.
But Sonata seems to be the one people judge the harshest for her past, while letting the other two off scott-free lol.
I’m just saying, laughing at her sister failing to impress a child isn’t really worthy of the fire and pitchforks.
As demonstrated by Sonata and only Sonata being a bad person in this comic.

Considering everything to the contrary, the fact that the kid has been otherwise cheerful, Aria’s explanation, all the other art of Dolly I think that’s probably not true. It likely is exactly what Aria said. Adagio was too much too soon.
