Maybe, but I still deem my rule of thumb to be safe.
You’d be surprised.
I might be wrong, but in this fandom, I find it safe to assume that most fans I interact with are male unless they clearly telegraph or outright state that they’re a girl.
I’ve been wrong enough times guessing other people’s sex online that I just use they until proven right or wrong.
And that’s the reason I use it when I don’t know someone’s sex.

That’s the “zero research” option, but oh well, it’s in the past.
I didn’t know their sex, and went with the safe option.
“He’s”, not “they’re”.
They started with Pinkie, so it’s likely they’re doing the Mane Six in turns and working out any problems with their models.
