Fuck, all I’m imagining is Nicole Oliver delivering these kind of lines with that ice cold authority she puts into Celestia at serious moments and it’s making me desperately wish it was real.

I love how emotive the Royal Guards are in this comic.  
When they enter they are clearly angry at Firbutt for upsetting Celestia, and in the 3rd panel you can see that Celestia has to hold back her guards to stop them delivering a righteous beatdown on Sunsit Sammer.

Personally, if they had this backstory in mind while making the movie (I have no idea how much Katie and Andy worked with the showrunners on this), they could have added maybe all of 30 second sometime after the crown was stolen and before Twilight goes through to highlight some of this back story. Just enough to know she was manipulative, greedy, and boastful, and wanted power. That would explain why she manipulated everyone at the school towards this end.

Oh, shit, it’s like the whole alicorn transformation thing actually means something instead of being a way to sell a new toy. Maybe it makes us wonder how the three alicorns we knew of before got to be that way.
