Well I think the more accurate idiom is more along like “Power attracts the Easily Corruptible.”.
Back in the original Fable. Yo could only get the Sword of Aeons, which turned you evil when you did. But in The Lost Chapters they added Avo’s Tear [With identical stats/augs as the Sword of Aeons] for the players that chose to get the good ending at the end by throwing the Sword of Aeons into the vortex at the end.
There is no such thing as a “good” magical superpower artifact. Well, there is, and they’re called the Elements of Harmony, and they’re more of a defrag.
You gotta admit, it’s kind of a given.
