Well, it really depends on the AI - our minds, in many ways, are essentially indistinguishable from very advanced AIs. The opposite, theoretically, is also possible.
While Gamma has quite a few “mechanical” behaviours, she was shown to also have very “human”, emotional moments, including in this comic. Or earlier, in a less serious situation:

A simulation can only account for known variables. If your data set doesn’t include magical finger snaps, you’re gonna be at a bit of a loss.
Normally this is done via simulation, not physical runtime. There is a reason for this.
