Yes, Pinkie and Marble are twins, if you don’t like it. Make Pound and Pumpkin Cake not twins as well.
And if you try to say: oh, Pinkie’s mother got pregnant again while she was pregnant with Pinkie. <<< Give me a break, Nick really had no idea that we already had twins on the series by his twitter message or even that he knew what fraternal twins are.

One thing I noticed is that ungulates can only vomit if they chew the cud. Is it just me?
@mjangelvortex
Another thing I noticed is only humans are able to eat chocolate, no other animals can AFAIK (and ponies probably have theobromine venom)
Also horses can’t vomit and ponies in FIM can vomit. :v
They might have taken a few liberties with that. Broccoli can give horses bad colic that can kill them. Chocolate also kills them. Ponies in the show have been seen eating both just fine.
EDIT: Also, chances of successful twin delivery is 1% in humans and 1 in 10,000 in horses.

I was speaking more in terms of physical designs. Her family members have “natural” and “earthy” colors with straight hair. While Pinkie is more bright and colorful. Place all of them (along with her parents) and she sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s why the theory that she was adopted happened in the first place.
But I honestly didn’t notice that side to their personalities so thank you for showing me that.
Pinkie Pie is not the odd one out of the Pie sisters.
Each one of the four is mentally “different” in her own unique way.
The problem is that the staff sometimes contradicts the show canon with their own personal canon… Consistency is important when there is more than one writer, and they are losing it slowly.
Your guess was correct. Thank you for showing us this.
Oh yeah, double-checking the full twitter post he straight up says “to me, puppy litter = siblings not twins”. Source
Down to a simple lack of knowledge about how equines work.
Aww, how cute!
Yep. (This isn’t offical concept art by the way. It’s just a fan design for him.)
Really? Aw, wish the idea had gotten through!
It would have. If they ever do something like that in a future episode (or even in Gen 5 when that rolls along), that would be a really nice lesson. They were going to do something like that in a scrapped episode invloving a pony that was adopted by deer but that never fell through.
That would be a great lesson. It wouldn’t matter if she’s adopted, because they chose her, claimed her as theirs. She’ll always be a Pie. Extra points if she knew she was adopted all along, but she doesn’t care in the slightest, the Pies being her family.
That’s what I’m thinking too. It’s an easy mistake to make.
@Baby Doll
It would. It would also explain why she’s so different from the rest of her family. Not to mention it would make her relationship with her family extra heartwarming too since they love her so much.
That being said, I like her being their biological family too but being the odd one out so to speak.
Wouldn’t it be something if it were true?
@DoesNotExist
Oh. That was confusing
Honestly I think it’s what I mentioned below, Nick Confalone may not realise that horses/ponies typically give birth to a single foal at a time. And that cases of a horse giving birth to two at once, whether identical or not, are still referred to as twins to the best of my knowledge.
Pinkie being adopted was a common fan theory a while back.
Not everyone working one the show has an exensive knowledge on every minor character.
@DoesNotExist
That too. Some people don’t understand that Equines (and lots of other large hooved animals) usually just have one child (or two) at a time. Kind of like how we humans usually do. They don’t have litters.
And when he left, all he left us was alone.
Some of them do, some of them are just there doing it for the paycheck, I imagine. Like many things.
Knowledge of equine reproduction is probably more prominent among fans than the writers, though. I feel like it’s not something they base their hiring on!
The current writing staff sometimes makes me wonder if they love the show.
From the comics. In fact, she looked more like an identical twin compared to the other examples.
@Chuy Ryu
Cherry being canon or not, I think the person who made this makes a good point. Unless Nick’s suggesting that they’re triplets with Limestone or implying that Pinkie doesn’t have the same mom, I don’t see why he was so hesistant to call them twins.
