It made no sense for human-world Spike to lose his memories since it didn’t affect animals(such as Opal not affected) and she shouldn’t be aware of Spike being able to talk(that and the fact Sci-Twi keeps forgetting that she can break the “no pets allowed” rule).
This special freaking wasted him.
Princess Twilight was the one to remember Sunset. Remember?
Because, she’s a princess pony in another world with magic. And she remembers her from the first 3 films.
If I had to guess, Id say while the memory stone is a powerful magical artifact, Id say a separate dimension is actually beyond its impressive range.
