Pinkie Pie lived on a rock farm. Rarity’s magic found Crystals in Rocks, Conclusion: Pinkie’s Family mines the crystals from rocks. They might be remnants of Crystal ponies that survived Sombra’s wrath several generations later, but still carry the trait of dulled coat and flat mane when depressed.

@thps48: Earth Ponies are clearly Chi manipulators (to hell with using Qs to transliterate Chinese, that’s just ridiculous, if it makes a “ch-” sound, use a friggin’ CH). They just get looked down on as non-magical because unicorns have their horns up their asses about Thaum being the only magic that counts.
